Conquering the Chilly Canyons of the Canadian River
I'm a huge fan of hunting in the panhandle of Texas. Although you don't get the beautiful oaks, thick brush or tall pines that characterize the rest of the state! the sunsets are bigger and the air is colder. The second I heard there was a public hunting area in the panhandle and that it was over 46,000 acres I knew I had to visit it the next chance I got. The hunting area is called Lake Meredith National Recreation Area and it opens up the possibilities of all kinds of outdoor opportunities including hunting Mule Deer, Whitetail, Quail, Turkey, Goose, Ducks and many predators. There is also much to fish for on the big waters of Lake Meredith that the Area surrounds. Field Reports by texashuntfish |
