Does anyone have any experience with the "quail restoration" method of releasing birds into the wild? I'm considering buying one of their pens.  I've tried every thingelse but $2,000 is a lot of money if it doesn't work.

Howdy! Go to their website and read about the product and the buyer remarks.  Seems like you have to have the habitat to begin with and the restorator raises day old quail to 5 weeks old, then they are released.  All food, water, and heat is provided.  It is snake and predator proof as well.  You might want to hear from others and maybe a biologist for your area before deciding to buy one or not.  Good luck!  If I had the habitat on my place, I sure would consider it.  Hope this helps!

I have heard anecdotal reports that the Surrogator can provide enough birds for some decent dogwork, but to think that you can repopulate an area with birds using it would be very optimistic.

The places that I have heard that it works have all had excellent habitat.  Of utmost importance is habitat restoration to make the Surrogator effective.
