Just wondered if any of you might know how the quail hatch is in West Texas. Dad and I hunt a lease north of Ozona and a couple of weeks ago we saw one large covey of Blues and one smaller group of Bobs. Another member of our group has been feeding all yr and has not seen many quail all yr.

I don't...but would have thought the quail population was doing real well down there with all the rain they got.  We're south of San Angelo and haven't had many quail at all on our place for the 4-5 years we've been able to hunt it.

Then again, varmints like bobcat can ruin a quail population pretty fast.  We have some bobcat and fox on our place which I'm sure affects the number of birds.
