Is there anywhere I can take my son for a good turkey/quail hunt on public land? I know most of you don't want to give away your honey hole but I can keep it to myself. My e-mail is bjepsen85@yahoo.com if you would like to contact me in private. I can trade you some info about public deer or duck hunts if you would like. Thanks!

HAPPY

Howdy! Quail is kind of thin in many areas. Eastern Turkey hunting beginning April 1st is in a number of East Texas counties. That being said, call the wildlife biologist assigned to the public land you intend to hunt.  There are lots of public land places that say they have quail or a turkey season, but you would never find either one on many of the WMAs.  Your best bet is to search the Annual Public Hunt booklets, then make some phone calls.  Good luck!  Always, Gene

Where are you planing to hunt? I have been hunting public land for years and there are not may years that I have went without killing a bird. But I do have to tell you it takes alot of savy and time to hunt public land. Be ready to hunt smarter and longer than the average public land hunter. 100 yard hunters is what I call them! lol

Sorry it took me so long to respond! I've been busy! Take a look at the bird I killed on Friday. I am ready to go anytime I can. I just enjoy the outdoors.
