I don't think there is any public land for Dove hunting in the area unless it's in Lost Mapples state park or another unit I am not aware of. i know there use to be one south of Ulvade and some in Frio county, I know all round garner state park there are lots of whitewings, I have seen them flying in flocks while floating the river, there are some great outfitters in the area if your willing to pay for a day or weekend hunt package.  My advice to you is if its Doves your looking to shoot look to San Antonio or the Rio Grande Valley, both areas are going to be holding a tremendous amount of Doves for some excellent shooting this year, I'm excited!!!
