In the process of trailing a doe I shot this weekend, I jumped a covey of quail. I hunt just outside of Llano, and these were the first quail I have seen. My father in law lives a short distance from my place and he said he hasn't seen any in years. One of my neighbors also said he had a covey, with a bunch of babies in it. I know this was the best year of rain we have had there in a while, but has anyone else noticed the quail making a comback in the hill country?
