IDEA

I received this info (passed on from my pup's breeder) on how to build quail recall pens from 55-gallon plastic drums.  I have cut a couple of them but have not yet finished construction -- they appear to be simple in design and take up minimal space.  Once I am done and have tried them out a bit, I'll post a review.

If you are having trouble opening it, let me know and I will either try to re-post it in parts or email it to you directly.  And to be clear, the document/idea was not my breeder's but something he found and passed along.  I don't know the author myself but I like the idea and thought I would share it.

That's pretty cool, I had never seen those before.

Niether have I seen anything like that. My Dad told me about when he was a boy that he made a big box shape out of long willow sticks lashed together. At the chosen spot he would dig a little curved trench about three inches wide and 14 inches long gradually to a depth of four inches . Then he placed the "box" so that the side went across the little ditch. He then placed a wood shingle inside over the dich and sprinkled some dirt lightly over it. The birds would enter going under the shingle and emerge in the middle of the trap. They tried to leave by going round the edge and not find the exit in the middle. That would have been around 1912.

Very interesting I am going to have to give those a try as well.

The second amendment says nothing about "hunting"
