Texas hunting and fishing licenses for 2009-2010 will go on sale Saturday, August 15. Sportsmen are reminded all current Texas annual hunting and fishing licenses (except for the year-to-date fishing license) expire August 31.

"Bobwhite Buffers" Fly Past 200,000 Acre Mark Nationwide

With 8,181 new acres already enrolled in the program this year, including 2,070 acres in May, federal Conservation Practice 33 (CP-33) has surpassed the 200,000-acre mark nationwide. The practice, which is most commonly referred to as "Bobwhite Buffers" because it is targeted at improving habitat for bobwhite quail, currently, has 207,298 acres enrolled in the program.
